 Part-time ART FACILITATORS wanted for workshops across UAL

 

SUARTS are looking for creative and dedicated students to join our team as Art Facilitators for University of the Arts’ first ever teaching awards this spring.

 

This exciting opportunity will provide you with valuable experience of working with professionals in arts education, and facilitating activities for students.

 

Throughout April and May we will be bringing print-making workshops to University of the Arts campuses and asking students to use visual means to vote for teachers, lecturers, technicians who go above and beyond the usual call of duty. The Art Facilitators will encourage students to take part in this process and help them to express themselves and use the tools provided.

ART FACILITATORS

 

18+ hours, spread over April and May

 

£6.08 per hour

 

 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

 

The Art Facilitator post would be best suited to a person with an interest in the arts and education. They will be a sociable and outgoing person who can engage with other students in a supportive manner. A practical, creative problem solver is essential. Experience of printing and delivering art activities for students or adults are desirable but not essential.

 

ROLE PURPOSE:

 

·         Delivering art activities: encourage and support students to take part in a print-making exercise in which you ask students to make a visual nomination for a member of university staff

 

·         Setting up and packing away of the stall.

 

·         Replenishment of materials before and after the activity.

 

·         Administer materials and nomination forms.

SUBars operate 3 venues across the University, employing a large number of people in all areas including Bars, Catering and Events. We are currently recruiting for staff in 3 of our Venues and below is a list of the opening times of each of the Venues (these are basic times, and can change due to event etc.

Chelsea – open Mon-Fri, 12 til 10
Blueprint - open Mon-Fri, 8 til 11, Sat 12 til 11, Sun 12 til 6
LCC - open Mon-Fri, 12 til 9

The Promotions Team operate across all sites at University of the Arts London. As such you will be expected to travel around as part of the role and would ideally have a travelcard (although this is not required criteria). The core hours of this role are 9am – 6pm, Monday – Friday.

Student Representative Organisers can work at the main SU office in the Student Hub or at remote sites. Timings may typically be between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday (timings are more flexible)

Freshers' Week photographers and those trained using digital film cameras are required to get material from events being held over all colleges throughout Freshers. You will see your material being used for our official SUARTS website as well as our social networks and for future Fresher events.
