► SUARTS Policy

POLICY  noun pol-i-cy // a definite course or method of action selected from among alternatives and in light of given conditions to guide and determine present and future decisions, a high-level overall plan embracing the general goals and acceptable procedures of an organisation

The Students’ Union main role is to act as the voice of students, but to be able to live up to what that entails we need to know what students are saying! There are many different ways that we do this but  having policy on a certain topic means that it’s the final word and the Union have to work in furtherance of what the policy states.

Union Policy on representational and educational matters is decided by Referendum; a vote in which all students can be involved, meaning it should truly reflect students views. Once passed, policy lasts for three years unless it is updated or a contradicting policy is passed.
Listed below is all our current policy, links to download them are coming soon, but for now if you would like to know more about Policy please contact our Democracy Co-ordinator, Clare Adams by phone 020 7514 6270 or email democracy@su.arts.ac.uk.
