► Who Represents You?

//Who represents you?

The Student Executive

Your elected Sabbatical Officers & College Vice Presidents.

Student Reps

It's all in the name. Student Reps represent the students who study at UAL.

Assemblies

Assemblies are a great way to meet people both socially and professionally; you can stand up for what you believe in, highlight issues to the wider University community or nationally and create real change.

National Representation

National Union Students (NUS) is the national voice of students helping them to campaign, get cheap student discounts and provide advice on living student life to the full.

The Arts Group represents students at universities with a special interest in arts. Its aim is to research, report, and act on a local, national and international level on issues of importance or common interest to students of Arts subjects and their Students’ Unions.

//Representing the voice of students

This is the reason the Students’ Union exists.

We are passionate about the importance of students at having a direct say on issues that affect them while studying at UAL.

Representing 22,000 different people is not easy… and so that is why the Union has various levels of representation run and supported by the Student Executive.

The Student Executive meet regularly to discuss potential problems and improvements to life at UAL. They can then take these forward to lobby the University locally or organisations nationally. Issues raised by Student Reps and at student forums get fed into the work of the Student Executive.

The Union is a democratic organisation, and so all the representatives are elected by relevant students.

 //Want to get involved?

You can get involved by becoming a rep yourself or simply using your vote to chose who represents you!
