Kit is one of the SU’s four Sabbatical Officers (Sabbs) that represent the voice of UAL students, to the University and other organisations.  They work to improve the UAL student experience and push for change.  The Sabbs work together on campaigns, development and strategic direction of the SU and act as Trustees of the organisation; making sure we are meeting the needs of students.

 

//ABOUT KIT'S ROLE
Kit is Editor in Chief of all Union publications (including the award-winning, Less Common More Sense - www.suarts.org/lesscommon) and holds the majority of responsibility for outward facing communication.  He is also responsible for the direction of Union campaigns and communication with students.

Kit Friend is the founding Chair of the Arts Group, the first organization to represent and act for students of the Arts nationally. Find out about their activity at www.artsgroup.org.uk

Kit was SUARTS’ Campaigns & Communications Officer in 08/09 and was re-elected for this year. He graduated from CSM in 2008 having studied BA Arts, Design & the Environment: Artefact.  Before that he completed the Art Foundation Diploma at CSM. What’s your favourite colour?
Black if I'm allowed a tone, otherwise burghundy red.

What’s your favourite thing(s)?
Eel sushi, Japanese ceramics, Martial Arts and Fire.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen?
Swarms of fireflies reflected over the swamps in Nepal.

What’s you’re favourite place in London?
Hampstead Heath of a Summer Evening.

Where do you want to be in five years time?
Running the country.

What item of clothing do you wear most often?
At the moment my black paisley tie.

If you were invisible for a day what would you do?
Sneak into the Commons and change all the policy to be pro-arts.

Night out or night in?
Depends who it's with, good company is everything.

What items could you not go without during the day?
My iPhone, my Ray Ban Aviators.
