► CCW VP

Studying - BA Sculpture, Camberwell

My name is Hafsa Shariff, I'm studying BA Sculpture at Camberwell College of Arts and I have been elected to be the next vice president for CCW!!
I can't say I was surprised on winning, being the only one running ;) but non the less its a great privilege.

My role as VP is to represent and support you; to effectively fight for students rights. I have been a student for many years here myself, so I understand the issues and problems we can all face!

My own personal issue that I would like to tackle whilst in office is the non existent CCW relationship. I believe creating an arts community across our colleges will be the first step towards achieving our needs as students. To do this I will organise social events, cross college exhibitions and utilise social networks to enable more feedback, discussion, and debate.

And it is of utmost importance that we work together now more then ever due to the cuts.
I believe that the cuts being imposed on higher education are short-sighted and socially backwards. I do, however, accept that the cuts are a response to events outside the University's control; the important thing is how we as students are going to overcome the obstacles ahead.

Remember no problem is too big or small, and I will ensure that I am always available in order to make sure my time as vice president is the most effective and beneficial for the current students.
